In 1996, Miho Mizukami Schoettker, Assoc. IALD, IESNA, IEIJ launched the privately-held WBE-certified Akali Lighting Design corroborating with a team of architects, interior designers, contractors, scientists, and educators. The firm specialized in ecologically responsible, architecturally sustainable, and healthy environment lighting design for commercial, institutional, and residential projects. The firm provides lighting forensic investigations and expert testimonies. Miho is the adjunct professor who develops and teaches of university-level architectural lighting classes emphasizing in daylighting, artificial lighting, daylighting/artificial lighting integration, and LEED compliant design.
